At 0033 hours, units were dispatched for a possible structure fire in the 1100 block of North Stafford Street. While responding, units were informed that ECC had received additional calls reporting that the outside of the house was on fire. Upon arrival, units were confronted with heavy fire on side Charlie with heavy fire and smoke awaiting them at the entrance to the fire unit. Engines 102 and 103 stretched 1 3/4" attack lines and made an attack on the fire. Captain Herrera (1C - on a trade) and FF Dreher (3C) from Rescue 104 entered the fire unit and did a primary search while FF James Johnson (1C) and FF O'Bryant assisted Tower 104 with laddering the building till Truck 106 arrived, then assisted with overhaul. Tower 104, FFs Kramer, Slusher, and Waterfall (3C) laddered the building, and put the tower to the roof for vertical ventilation. Crews held the bulk of the damage to the unit of origin.
