One Trapped on East end of Columbia Pike
9.15.06
Box Assignment: Engine 101, Medic 101

Special Call: Battalion 111, EMS 111, Rescue 109, Rescue 104

Friday afternoon, Engine and Medic 101 were dispatched for an accident with injury at Columbia Pike and Queen Street. Medic 101 got on scene, and reported one patient concious and alert, but trapped between the door and the console by a broad side collision. Rescue 109 and Rescue 104 were added to the call. Rescue 104, having the advantage of already being on the road, arrived on scene, as Engine 101 was finishing up stabilization. Rescue 109 arrived on scene shortly there after, and went to work with Rescue 104. The crews removed the car roof, folded down the driver side of the car, and prepped the passenger side incase a dash lift would be needed. As it turned out, the patient's legs were not trapped under the dash, so the patient was removed from the vehicle and transported to the hospital by Medic 101.
